One key initiative is the partnership with Clean the World where all used soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion left behind in guest rooms are recycled and sent to vulnerable communities around the world. The Days Inn & Suites Lindsay also works with TerraCycle which is a company that recycles hard-to-recycle materials. The hotel has a special recycling box from TerraCycle for oral waste such as plastic toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes. All guest rooms also include signage to encourage guests to reduce the amount of water and electricity used in providing a new towel and bed linens with every use. Guests are encouraged to reuse towels after a one-time-use and if staying a while to have their bed linens changed every third day rather than every day. The hotel does the majority of it’s purchasing as locally as possible to allow for a reduced amount of emissions created in the transportation of goods.
